The Philippine version of MTV or Channel V, "Myx" from ABS-CBN has been making their own CDs to sell locally. Jumping on the bandwagon, Myx came out with their own compilation of "club mixes"... apparently House Party events from Big Fish, Motorola, Smart and the like have been catching here in the country. From Davao to Boracay and ofcourse Manila, house music is catching on to a varied audience.
Not to miss out on any lucrative prospects from the popularity of these parties , local Channel Myx, came out with its own compilation of House music, unfortunately a dismal cry to its original counterparts. Often including Moony, Bonnie Bailey and Kaskade (hello copyright infringement?) Club Myx also includes "Come Rain Come Shine!" by someone Cuneta, and a House version of a local band, Hale, song. Don't think that people who like House music have heard of Hale. Club Myx thinks that Hale is the Philippine counterpart to The Killers!
Anyway it really sucks. You should see the video "Come Rain Come Shine" ofcourse, only being aired in Channel Myx, hehe. Was able to catch it, quite reminiscent of the 90's dance videos.
Also, Channel Myx has been making their own videos on some popular House Hits, that is Bonnie Bailey's"Ever After" and "Its You Its Me" (not sure which Kaskade hit). The "Ever After" video featured snapshots of Hed Kandi album covers, and some scenic shots of probably Boracay.
What was most annoying was "Its You Its Me" because it was a video of the Myx VJs. So annoying. The video will definitely send a haunting chill down your spine.
They should change the title of the "Club Myx" album to "House Music for Dummies" instead!
